This course is relevant to anyone who works in education and/or who wants to understand and interpret tests. It is particularly suited to learning support teachers, SENCos, research teachers, college disability officers, assistant psychologists or anyone working within the educational setting administering or interpreting psychometric or educational tests.
For teachers working in the UK, this course is part of 1 of gaining your Educational Testing and Access Arrangements Cert (ETAAC) for Level 7 status with the JCQ to practice as an access arrangements assessor. Accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), the Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing — Test User is an internationally recognised course, which is rapidly becoming a ‘must-have’ for individuals administering educational tests. This course will cover topics such as:
what is assessment; when is testing appropriate; how to select and administer different kinds of tests (including tests of ability and attainment); understanding of standard scores; how to score and interpret test results; understanding errors in testing; bias and discrimination in testing; communicating results to other; writing and reading reports.
Upon successful completion of this course with Éirim, course participants will be awarded the Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing from the British Psychological Society. The price does not include the actual BPS certificate. All costs include lunches, refreshments, and materials including a course manual.
