Working with bilingual children: a workshop for Teachers
A huge part of helping children access their potential is also by supporting teachers and educators with training in testing and special education so that they can better plan for and implement appropriate interventions for children.
More and more teachers and school staff are working with bilingual children and therefore there is a clear need to develop their skills, knowledge and expertise in this area. Educators also should be cognizant of some of the issues involved when bilingual children have additional support needs.
This is offered as a 2-day face-to-face course.
This 2 day course is for qualified Teachers, Special Needs Teachers, Support Specialists, Guidance Counselors and Principals.
The course will cover concepts such as cognitive control, selective attention, flexible and creative thinking, and conceptual transfer, and will consider bilingual children who may have learning difficulties, dyslexia, autism, Asperger syndrome and/or selective mutism.
